If you use Cloudflare, then you might have noticed the Emails tab on your Cloudflare Dashboard. It actually gives you free business email like [email protected] , and receive mail on your own email like gmail, yahoo etc. But you could not send mails using the business mail created using Cloudflare.

Today in this article I’ll show you how to integrate Cloudflare SMTP on gmail, so that you can send mails from that email address. So, let’s start

Go to Cloudflare and click on the email tab.

cloudflare email 1

Now create your custom email address and choose the destination email address(In this case, your gmail address), where you want to receive mails.

After that, you’ll have to verify that gmail address by clicking on the verification mail sent to your gmail address.

This was the part to create your custom email using Cloudflare. You can now receive the mails sent to the custom email address in your gmail inbox.

Now we’ll see how to integrate it with gmail so that we can send emails using cloudflare custom email address.

At first go to your gmail and click on the gear icon and select see all settings.

gmail settings

Then click on Accounts and Import . In the Send mail as option, click on Add another email address.

send mail as

A new popup will be opened. Here enter the name which you want to show when you send an email from that custom mail address and the custom email address and click on Next Step>>.

popup

Now, fill the rest of the details like this-

SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com

Username: Your Gmail Username ( in case of [email protected], user is the username).

Password: Your gmail password. (Now, for most of the users, gmail password does not work. You’ll have to use the App Password).

Note:  If you have two factor authentication turned on, then you can turn it off (just while the SMTP verification) or you can generate App Password from your Google Account >> Security tab and use that password instead.

And port to 465.

smtp

Now a verification code will be sent to your custom email address, which you know you’ll find on your gmail inbox. You will find a verification code which you need to enter in the  the next step and verify.

After verification you can choose between your original gmail address and the custom cloudflare email address while sending an email. Or you can make it default by going to the Accounts and Import tab again and clicking on make default. That’s it. you’ve gotten what you wanted. 😉

Hope from this post, you’ve found what you were looking for.

Hi mate, thanks for your comment. Yeah, I just meant to say how to use that mail address created using cloudflare on from gmail and send email from that. (for making people understand in an easy language, I used that.)

Have a good day. 🌻❤

Seems I had to reduce some of the security settings on my gmail account, eventually got it working.

Hi, You have to disable two factor authentication for just the SMTP verification.
Or you can generate app passwords from your google account manager and use that password there.

Hope it’ll solve the issue. 😊

What worked for me was to enable two-factor authentication and add an app to my account. This will generate a password that you will use for this setup. Easy and secure. The “add app” will be below the two-factor authentication as of May/16/2022

This worked only after making a generated app password with two-factor authentication. But it worked perfectly after that. thank you!

Tried App Password?

If it doesn’t work. Try disabling two factor authentication for a while and using the same google account password for SMTP verification

You no longer have access to [email protected]. To send this email, choose a different “from” address and try again. Learn more at https://support.google.com/mail/answer/22370 Can you please explain what is the reason?
